Script Recording      Copyright 2003 - JMA - All Rights Reserved
To start recording a script, click the Script Recording button         on the Script tool bar. Once the button is activated, every action you perform will recorded until the Save Script button        or the Cancel Script
button        is selected.

When the Script is saved, it will appear in the Select Script drop down list. To Play the script click the Run Script button       on the toolbar.
Before any script recording can take place, you must have an image opened in the work area.
Let's try recording a simple Script.
This small script will provide a simple way to lighten a dark image.

1. With the image opened in the work area select the Script Record button.
2. Go to the Main Menu bar and select Layers > Duplicate.
3. In the Layers palette click the Blend mode labeled Normal and in the pop-up window select Screen.
4. Still in the Layers Palette, move the Opacity to the left until the lightness level of the image is to your taste.
5. Click the Save Script button.

When the Save Script button is pressed, PSP opens a dialog window that will let you specify the folder where you want PSP to save the script, the name you want to give the Script. Enter the name for your script in the File Name box, then before pressing the save button, click the Description button to add your name any copyright information and a brief description of the script. The Save as type box should be left in its default file type *.PspScript. Notice that the Cancel button in the Save Dialog window only cancels the file save operation. It will not stop or cancel script recording. If you want to abandon the script, you must use the Cancel Script button.
More info:
In the lower left hand corner of the dialog window, there are two check boxes, Save Materials and Save Dialog Positions.
The Save Materials option, if checked will save the names and the paths of any pattern or gradient that was used during the recording of the script.
The Save Dialog Positions checkbox is used to place any dialog window that was opened during script recording in exactly the same place on the screen. In other words, if you placed all the dialog windows on the right side of your screen each time they opened, the Save Dialog Positions will recall the information and PSP will open each dialog window in that same location when the script runs.
