Bounded Scripts                                        Copyright 2003 - JMA - All Rights Reserved
Paint SHop Pro 8 allows you to create up to nine (9) scripts called BoundScripts. Unlike the standard scripts, Boundscripts are commands. As such you can drag them into a Toolbar, or even assign them keyboard shortcuts.

Creating a BoundScript is no different than creting s standard script. The only difference is that when you save the script you name it "BoundScriptn", where n is a number from 1 to 9. Before saving the script as a Boundscript, erase the BoundScript having the same number from your MyPSP8 Files/Scripts Restricted folder. That is, if you have created a script that you want to save as BoundScript2, erase the sample Boundscript2 that was supplied by Jasc in the folder MyPSP8 Files / Scripts Restricted to be sure that the newly created script is saved as BoundScript2.

Placing the BoundScript on a toolbar
Once the Boundscript has been saved, go to the Main Menu bar and select View > Customize to bring up the Customize Window. In the Customize dialog window select the Tab labeled Commands. Then scroll down to Bound Scripts to bring up the list ofCommands on the right. Click and Hold the LEFT mouse button on the Boundscript number that you just saved and drag it to the toolbar of your choice. For this tutorial, the Boundscript was dragged to the Main Menu bar as shown.

Drag the Run BoundScript1 command to the Main Menu bar and release the mouse.
When the Mouse button is released PSP8 places a Script Icon with the number of the Boundscript on the toolbar

Assigning a Keyboard Short-cut
To assign a keyboard short-cut to a BoundScript, open the Customize window by selecting View > Customize on the Main Menu bar and click the Tab labeled Keyboard. Next, click the down arrow in the Category drop down window and select Bound Scripts. The Commands window will display all the available Run BoundScripts commands. Go to the window labeled Press New Shortcut Key and press the key of your choice. In this case F11 was chosen for the shortcut key. To assign the shortcut key, click the button labeled Assign. Once the key has been assigned, it will be displayed in the box labeled Current Keys. To change a shortcut key, highlight it in the Current Keys box and click the button labeld Remove. That's all there is to it.
